I was born a child of Rome but grew to be a child of the gods. I was crafted to be the champion of Juno but rose up to be a hero of Olympus. Now, I will create my own path. I will keep my promise to represent all the gods and to protect their children, or I will die trying.

”Ya’ll be fine, love. Don’t y’worry none. An’ don’t frown so much, yeah? Otha’wise yer features’ll be stuck like tha’ ferever, an’ wha’ if someone jus’ so happens t’ fall in love wit’ yer smile?”

The girl nodded and assured that yes, indeed, this was all there was to it. For now, anyhow. Consider this the first course (or class, if you will) when it comes to Summoning Creatures 101.

The words made him crack a small grin. It wasn’t like he never smiled just maybe not in times like this. It was a serious moment that needed a serious face, but he must have been too much if she had to comment about it.

image

"Right. Smile more, worry less. I can try to do that, and hopefully I won’t blow it.“ Though that was a big hope. "So do you have a list of who does what, or is it more of a learn as you go thing?”

Quinn sat perfectly still, watching the coin go around. And around. Games like this had nothing to do with luck — it was just a coin toss. Nothing was wagered on it — nothing but, of course, bragging rights. School? Nah. Fun? Definitely. Fun, I guess. What, you don’t like chance games?

image

“Not exactly,” he answered, a small chuckle following his words. Jason much prefered things he could control, things he knew he could effect and change, and things left up to chance weren’t exactly his favorite. “My luck usually isn’t good enough for games like that, but I’m guessing they’re more up your ally?”

impertinentpunk:

“Psh, lame,” he uttered, tossing out the trash he had cleaned up using the broom. Shockingly, he was rather good at cleaning—- that didn’t mean his cabin was amazingly organized though. So, don’t get your hopes up. “Maybe, it wouldn’t be any fun if he tried to pull up a cabin only thing. We could always just start the party— and conveniently be unavailable when it came to cleaning it up.”

image

He tied off another bag and placed it to the side. It was starting to look better, and Jason knew that Percy helping was making the process go much quicker. “That might just work. We just need to be sure to invite the messiest people in the camp. Got any ideas for who?”

deathbyamethyst:

“My father gave them to me for my birthday.” She explained. “skodati" She whispered under her breath. The ends of the bracelets detached and pivoted on her wrists, straightening and morphing into the pommels of her blades.

His eyes widened a little bit, figuring this is how Leo must have felt when shown new ideas, from excitement. "That’s really cool, and also really cool of your father to have given it to you as a gift.” It definitely looked deadly if nothing else.

“You’ve got funny guys coming to your mind, dude. Maybe I’m just not
the kind of audience you need?” Clovis tilted his head, eyebrow raising a
little. Sometimes he failed to catch jokes, or thought someone was trying
to make one when really they weren’t. It barely gets as awkward as laughing
at an inappropriate moment. “Uh, nobody, really- I mean, they just described
you, with the tiny scar and all. And the… spiky… hair…”

image

"I wouldn’t say you’re not the right type of audience. I would just say that the speaker has a poor way with words,” Jason answered. At least in that sense. Give him a group of kids needing something to do and he would be you’re guy but comedy not so much. Now it was his turn to tilt his head though. “That could be used to describe a large portion of the Final Fantasy cast you know. Anything more specific?”

repairboyvaldez:

“Aw c’mon, now even like - at least a laser pointer?” he pouted, trying not to show his disappointment. He really was just itching to get his hands on Jason’s glasses so he could examine them and fiddle around with them. He had never gotten the chance to add anything special to glasses since no one else aboard the Argo II had them, but now that he did, he had too. “Can I least add something to it? Anything, please?” He was making grabby hands and jumping up and down excitedly like a child, but he really wanted to do stuff with them.

image

"A laser pointer???“ What was he going to do with a laser pointer? Hope that one of the monsters he had to fight was as easily to distract as a cat maybe… He shook his head, a smile very clear on his face at the thought of how ridiculous he’d look with that. "Alright, alright. You can mess with them, but please don’t mess with he lenses.” It was hard to say no to Leo, especially when he was so excited about working on something. He trusted Leo not to mess them up, and maybe there could be something really cool added onto it. “No laser pointers though. Not exactly something I need,” Jason added, taking off the glasses and handing it to the shorter demigod.

filiusxregis Has Entered Camp Jupiter

lxvesque:

“Unfortunately,” Hazel said, rolling her eyes a little. “Really?” She smiled. “I’m sure I can make time around that time.” She hadn’t even been to Camp Half-Blood since the Giants War. “How are things holding up back there?”

"They’ll come around.“ If the Greeks could then he knew the Romans would as well even if it was only to show their counterpart up. Jason’s face lit up when he heard that Hazel could come back with him. "That’s fantastic! I’ll let Piper know you’re coming; I’m sure she’ll be excited.” He paused for a moment, like he was trying to figure out what to say and what not to. “They’re recovering. Everyone was working hard, but they’re having a hard time adjusting too.”

demigoddork:

Honestly, what even led Kenna to knocking on Jason’s cabin door, well she couldnt really say why. Cause in truth, she had absolutly no fricking idea. Maybe it was the fact that she kidn of wanted to bug him, or more along the lines that she just wanted someone to talk to since her brother was so busy. Upon seeing Jason’s features when he opened the door, Kenna sighed and ran a hand through her hair. “Well, arent you just a ray of sunshine…” She commented, rocking back and forth on her heels. “I just simply came to ask you how your day was…”

image

He held back any words about her comment. A ray of sunshine that had been ridden hard and put away wet maybe, and definitely one that wasn’t in the mood to deal with the pestering of another demigod. However, he couldn’t say that to the girl. After all he was a consul to the demigods and needed to be open to listening to them whenever they needed. So instead Jason crossed his arms over his chest and leaned up against the door frame. “It’s been long, very, very long. Training plus camp chores usually leave anyone tired right? he answered, watching her fidgety movement. "You sure that’s the only reason you came by? You seem antsy.”

pyrokxnetic:

“Why should I, man?” Leo bit back, his words dripping with venom. But it was an empty insult; his will was gone, and his fight had died down. He just wanted this to end.

image

“…look, I got my reasons. Okay? I wanna keep ‘em to myself. Can’t you respect that?”

Could he? Could he just let go of something so dire to the quest in respect of his friend choices? That internal battle wagged on, the one between his heart and his brain.

image

“I just need to understand. Help me to understand and I’ll leave you alone.”

pyrokxnetic
        continued from here.

He wasn’t expecting Leo to jerk like that. It was just a simple peck, something that was supposed to be reassuring, and already Leo was threatening to burst into flames. Jason couldn’t help but chuckle a little, though that turned into a small groan when he felt the shorter boy’s legs moving across his back. “You sure you can handle this..?”
