I was born a child of Rome but grew to be a child of the gods. I was crafted to be the champion of Juno but rose up to be a hero of Olympus. Now, I will create my own path. I will keep my promise to represent all the gods and to protect their children, or I will die trying.

Nico couldn’t handle it anymore. He burst out laughing, which hurt his cheeks because he wasn’t used to making such an expression. Obviously whomever he bought the deck from had scammed him. Nico then wondered how much Jason had paid for the cards. Usually they went for about a dollar or less, so Nico didn’t really expect anything higher.
’ Was it supposed to be that one pack good for attacks midair? That seems like the kind of pack you’d buy, Jason. ’
He was still chuckling after he had said it. It was a funny mistake to him. Nico was sure, however, he would be the object of derision.
A small blush, caused mostly from the embarrassment, spread across his cheeks. It was one thing for Nico to think of him as an idiot, but to laugh at him…well that was embarrassing. After all how often did Nico actually laugh? Not enough in Jason’s opinion, but right this second he could have lived with the son of Hades keeping to his usual demeanor.
“Yeah. I figured it would be more ‘typical Jason’, but it’s what I know. I mean water packs are cool and all, but at least with air attacks I can use more of a logical approach and use things that would actually work on a real battle field.” But what the blonde failed to realize was that in games that wasn’t always the case.
Hugo gripped his watch tightly in his hand as he walked stiffly and quickly through the train station. He tried to look unsuspicious but couldn’t help but glance around every now and then. He quickened his pace as he walked past the station inspector. He just wanted to get out of the open and back in the walls as soon as possible. He felt so…exposed. The inspector’s dog growled at him and by now Hugo was almost running. So much for being subtle, but if he could just get out of the way fast enough- He ran right into someone and gave a small yelp when he fell. He looked over his shoulder at the station inspector as he frantically started to snatch up the papers that had fallen before whoever he’d bumped into could get the chance to drag him to the inspector.
The papers flew all around him, and a small pang of guilt shot through his mind. Why Jason had no idea, since the kid did run into him after all, but the look on his face, the one that could rival a trapped animal’s, made him feel a little bad. Something must have happened, and he must have gotten in the way. His step-mother always said that the streets in Europe were full of people running from something, usually the police she pointed out, but he didn’t expect to run into those running people. “Here let me help,” he offered, squatting down to pick up some of the papers.
The Athena Parthanos was glaring at her. And it wasn’t just so feeling in her gut, those stone eyes where most definitely glaring in her direction. In which, she glared on back, and then felt stupid for even bothering to glare at a stone statue. Hands curl around the rail of the Argo II, onyx eyes reflecting the slowly dying sun that birthed inky shadows into which she would soon disappear. But not soon enough, it would seem as there’s a hand on her shoulder and a familiar voice at her ear.
“No, Jason. I’m not.”
She says a bit abruptly, turning to face the tall blonde. Resigned. Reyna is resigned to everything now —resigned to her position, resigned to having truly lost Jason eight months prior, resigned to taking on this suicide mission.
( She had really been hoping to avoid this conversation. )

He wasn’t surprised when she said that she wasn’t nervous. This was Renya he was talking to, and even if she was nervous she would never admit to that out loud. It like her to do such, and Jason found himself smiling a little at her response. “I’ll be nervous for you then.”
And in truth he really was nervous for her. He was nervous that this mission, one he wasn’t a huge fan of in the first place, would take away one of his closest friends. He was nervous that this would be the last time he could see Renya, and it would leave them with uneasy feelings that would last forever. “But with that being said I know you’ll make it out okay. You’re the strongest out of all of us after all.” And Jason had the utmost faith in her.
{ He just hoped that that strength wouldn’t be her downfall }
Mythomagic days. They held a lot of old memories, and he simply couldn’t bear to revisit them. However, when Jason came to ask him a very important question about why Poseidon was more powerful than Zeus in a certain pack, Nico almost slapped himself across the face. The answer was so simple!
Nico took the pack from his hands and studied the cards just to make sure his answer was correct. Ah! Just as he had thought…
’ Jason… It’s because this is an Oceanuspack. Every card involving something with water is bound to be more powerful. ’
Oceanus pack?? No that couldn’t be right. The guy who sold him the deck said it was Uranus pack, the one good for air combat. Jason didn’t know if real life experience would transfer into the game, but a home-field advantage was one of the most basic battle strategies so he went with it.
"That little…“ he sighed in frustration. At least it made sense now, and though he felt like a moron for asking, since the answer was so simple, he felt better knowing that the mortal world wasn’t totally losing it’s shit. "It was supposed to be a different pack..”
He took the edge of his shirt and brought it to his nose to smell it Odly enough he did smell a little like burnt waffles. “Must have been a Leo accident. If you would like I can change?”
❝so you’re one of the demigods who annabeth and butch brought back today instead of percy, yeah?❞
He rubbed the back of his neck and answered, “Yeah so I keep hearing. Jason Grace also known as the guy who should be this Percy person but has no idea who he is.”
“Very noble of you, my King,” Jason laughed, shaking his head slightly. “But if you think about doing something reckless then I would advise against it. My head is not nearly as valuable as yours, but I do appreciate the thought.” It was nice to know that his ruler, no his friend, valued his life and thought of them close enough to say such.
He held out the reigns for the king’s horse and looked out over the other knights. They certainly had come a very long way since he first came under Percy’s rule, and though there were times that he wanted to strangle the man he could think of no other he’d rather follow into battle. “Ready to ‘do or die?’”
She turned to look at him with wide eyes, eyes that soon narrowed once it dawned on her who this might be. “Indeed.” Calypso tilted her head. “Are you, by any chance, Jason?”
Her tone wasn’t hostile, much less annoyed. Perhaps a bit irritated, but mostly curious.
And, well, she could see the resemblance now. As far as costumes went, he had done a fairly decent job– every fabric the same shade as hers. They might as well have gone together.
He nodded and answered, “At least the one I’m sure they keep referencing though I can understand why they wanted us to meet.” Though her tone was a little more harsh than he would have expected he answered with one filled with curiosity and interest.
After all it wasn’t every day that you met a girl who was into the same geeky things you were.
“So I’m guessing you soaked up the coupons from Jo Ann’s as well?” Normally he wouldn’t have asked if the resemblance wasn’t so…close.
